The Bay of Plenty Tertiary Intentions Strategy

The Bay of Plenty Tertiary Intentions Strategy (TIS) is the wider Bay of Plenty’s guide to ensuring the needs of the region are met by an educated and skilled workforce.

By connecting the region to work together, the TIS guides the delivery of tertiary education for a more prosperous Bay of Plenty region.

The strategy is supported by a range of local post-secondary education providers including the Bay of Plenty Tertiary Education Partnership – Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, Waiariki-Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and University of Waikato. It is also supported by local industry, Local and Central Government, BayTrust, SmartGrowth, Priority One, Grow Rotorua, Toi EDA and Enterprise Great Lake Taupō.

Ultimately, the TIS is about training local people for local jobs.

The TIS vision is to foster the pathway of knowledge to strength, independence and growth for future generations -"Hapaitia te ara pumau ai te rangatiratanga mo nga uri whakatipu."

The TIS is in it’s early phase of execution – to keep up-to-date please sign up to our eNewsletter.
